This was probably the most difficult five mile hike I have ever attempted. It was beautiful, cold, snowy and VERY slick and icy. The ice was difficult especially around Suter Falls and then we had to navigate boulders (with ice) until we finally got to regular trail to Horsepound Falls. Then we had to come back the same way. If you want a great workout, this is the trail for you. Ten hikers from Murfreesboro, Four from Soddy-Daisy, and one each from Knoxville and Nashville participated in this hike.
