We met at the Visitors Center to begin our hike on the Lake Trail where we could see an eagle's nest across the lake. Then we climbed Ganier Ridge and from there to the South Cove Trail across a second ridge. We saw an abundance of early wildflowers. We saw dwarf larkspur, spring beauties, cut leaf toothwort, small trillium, and Dutchman's britches. We also saw deer, turtles and a muskrat swimming in the lake. A bit windy but a great day for a hike. Hikers were Jay Brain, Anita Hardy, Sara Pollard and Marietta Poteet.
