Bicentennial Mall - Sara

The Murfreesboro chapter enjoyed a nice hike in the asphalt jungle of downtown Nashville. Seven of us walked about 7 miles beginning at the Bicentennial Bells at the Bicentennial Mall and meandered to the capitol, the main library, the new 5th and Broad, took a breather in Union Station and then visited the Parthenon. A great lunch at J. Alexander's on West End was followed by a stretch run through Music Row, Musica and straight down Demonbreun to 4th where we crossed Broadway and made our way back to Farmers Market. After the scare of the thunderstorms subsided we had a wonderful warm, breezy hike on a beautiful Saturday.

Bicentennial Mall - Tony

The Murfreesboro Chapter walked almost 8 miles in downtown Nashville today (Sunday). There were 9 of us, the weather was perfect.

We started at the Bicentennial Bells and the Bicentennial Mall and walked to the capitol, down Church to Printers Alley, down 2nd to Demonbreun. We walked through the Gulch where we ate at Burger Republic. From there on to Musica, Music Row, back down Broadway to Union Station to the Riverfront up first and back to the Bells.

Great walk and a great group.

Bicentennial Mall State Park - Anna

It was a fun, relaxed morning walk, mostly shaded by trees, in the
landscaped 19 acre Bicentennial Mall State Park. After the walk we ate next
door in the food court of the Farmer's Market. Most of us did a little
shopping for fresh produce before loading up to return home. It was a nice
way to enjoy friends and get a little outdoor exercise while taking in some
Tennessee history on a day too hot for regular hiking.
