Cedars of Lebanon SP - Sara

We had 11 hikers on the Hidden Springs Trail hike today at Cedars of Lebanon State Park. Before the hike John Ruth and his wife Terri cooked breakfast for us at their campsite. We had delicious sausage links, fried potatoes, and scrambled eggs. Sara brought blueberry muffins to share and Jeannie provided some English muffins.

After breakfast we met in the Hidden Springs parking lot which was almost full since it was a warm and beautiful day. We met several hikers and runners along the trail. We had to step around some mud puddles but that's not unusual for this flat trail.

Hikers were Marilyn Beachboard, Joe Campbell, Amanda Carkhuff, Eduardo Contreras, Tony Jones, Judy Pannick, Sara Pollard, Jeannie Potter, John Ruth, Jan Safavi, and Martina Terrazas.

Cedars of Lebanon - Sara

Jeanne Conatser led a 5 mile hike on the Hidden Springs trail at Cedars of Lebanon State Park. She was joined by Sara Kennedy and Sara Pollard. We saw lots of wildflowers and the pretty yellow flower called St. John's Wort was everywhere. There were numerous sink holes and cedar glades which made for an interesting hike.

Cedars of Lebanon - Roy

Hidden springs trail at Cedars of Lebanon State Park
The weather could not have been better for this hike, mid to upper 60's all day.
We had a total of 7 hikers on this five mile walk: Nabil Wakid,King Jamison,MaryBelle Ginanni,Janet Przirembel from Montery and Jamie Bouldin from Lebanon.

We saw a lot of late summer wild flowers and at least twelve different kinds of mushrooms along this trail.

I had planned a side trip to Sellars farm Indian mounds but due to some time restraints we decided to save that for another day. After the hike we enjoyed lunch at one of the picnic tables and headed home.

This is a very nice trail and while it doesn't have any sweeping vistas or thundering waterfalls, when you slow down and take time to look around you will be amazed with what you discover.I had a camera malfunction so I didn't get but a couple of pictures.
