Dog Cove to Dry Creek Falls Hike - Jay

Jay Brain led 4 hikers on the Dog Cove trail to Dry Creek Falls. This trail is in the Dog Cove Historic Area and is part of the Lost Creek & Virgin Falls State Natural Area. The hike started at the kiosk and was 3.5 miles to the falls and back.  It's a beautiful 2-tiered waterfall and we were able to hike down to the base.  We stopped at Meditation Rock on our way there and had lunch at the end of the trail before returning to the trailhead.  There were beautiful rock formations, shallow creek crossings and an abundance of wildflowers. The weather was perfect and we had nice views of farmland along the ridge. Hikers were Jim Barritt, Jay Brain, Joan Hartvigsen, Sheila Miller and Sara Pollard.

Dog Cove - Jay Brain

There were seven hikers on the Dog Cove hike in Sparta led by Jay Brain. We started at the Dog Cove trailhead and hiked the Homestead Trail that followed Lost Creek along three homesteads being preserved. Then to the Low Gap trail and explored the Low Gap arch with its unique feature. We then drove to Lost Creek Falls and Cave and had lunch below the waterfalls. Hikers were Jim Barritt, Jay Brain, Anna Lina Buckley, Jennifer Davis, Chris Manzione, Sara Pollard and Jan Safavi.
