Rock Island - Jennifer

August 28th the Murfreesboro chapter hiked at Rock Island. Hiking were Sara Pollard, Pu Stanford, and Jennifer Zahn.  We started at Eagle Trail, a .7 mile way in and then back out. Some small beautiful falls.  Then we did the big loop. easy hiking but not very scenic. Ended with the beautiful Twin Falls, a lollypop trail of 1.6 miles.   Best falls ever at the start. Started raining about half mile from the end, but other than that great hiking weather.

Rock Island State Park - Sara

We had a great turnout for the joint hike with the Highland Rim chapter at Rock Island State Park July 26. Eighteen total hikers.  We met at the Visitor’s Center and then hiked the upstream trail, Eagle Trail and the 3 mile Collins River trail.  Lunch was at the Badger Flat picnic area.  Hikers from Murfreesboro were Roy Duncan, Sara Pollard, Nabil Wakid, Gary Welsh, Wayne Yancey and Jennifer Zahn.  Pat Serio from Knoxville joined us and has posted pictures on the Tennessee Trails Facebook page.
