Normandy Lake Paddle

It was a perfect day to take our kayaks out on Normandy Lake near Manchester. The put in was a nice flat, grassy area at Barton Springs Public Use Area. We paddled along the shoreline to the Cedar Point campground and then down Riley Creek. Had lunch along the lake that had a picnic table. There weren't many boats on the lake, and we had a little head wind, but it was still a pleasant trip. Paddlers were Jim  Barritt, Ron Dunn, Joan Hartvigsen and Sara Pollard.

Normandy Lake Paddle

We had 4 kayakers on the Normandy Lake paddle on a Sunday morning. We put in at Ward's Chapel and kayaked to Bobo Creek. Here we got out and hiked to Machine Falls. Then we paddled to see Ovoca Falls but the water was shallow to the falls, and no one wanted to get out to walk to the base of the falls. There weren't many boats on the lake, and it was a nice day to paddle. Kayakers were Wendy Fish, Joan Hartvigsen, Tom Hartvigsen and Sara Pollard.

Normandy Lake Kayak Paddle - Sara

We had a small group but couldn’t ask for more perfect weather. We started from Ward Chapel Boat Ramp on Normandy Lake. We paddled to Crumptin Creek to see four waterfalls flowing into the lake. The water was so smooth it looked like glass. We had a short portage across a gravel barge between signposts #4 and #5. We saw ducks and a beautiful heron. Paddlers were Joe Campbell, Joan Hartvigsen, and Sara Pollard.

Normandy Lake - Sara

There were five us who went kayaking on Normandy Lake near Manchester Sunday morning. We started around 9:00 am and got off the lake around 1:00 pm. We pretty much had the lake to ourselves since there weren't many boats on the lake that early. We didn't get to hike to Machine Falls because the water level was too low for us to to get close enough to start our hike.  It was still a nice day with a small breeze.  Kayakers were Sara Pollard, Joan Hartsvigsen, Jean Breuer, Paolo Smith and new TTA member Glenda Brewster.

Normandy Lake - Tony

Association's Murfreesboro and Highland Rim chapters enjoyed a great float on the Normandy Lake in Normandy, Tennessee.
The small but beautiful tree lined lake has waterfalls in small inlets and quiet homes on its shores.
Such a beautiful place!
