April 18 Cheek's Bend Bluff View Trail (also known as Yanali), and Stillhouse Hollow Falls, both near Columbia, approximately 3 miles total, rated easy. The Cheeks Bend trail segment, located in the 2,135 acre Duck River State Natural Area Complex, travels along a bluff overlooking the Duck River and includes a special surprise - an optional side trip through a small cave, where you can enter on a bluff top and emerge near the Duck at the base of the bluff. The second part of our double-feature hike takes us to the end of a long gully, deep in the Tennessee woods on the Western Highland Rim in the Duck River Watershed, where the waters of a stream high above cascade softly over the edge and down 75 feet to the bottom of Stillhouse Hollow Falls. Bring a flashlight, drinking water, snacks, and money for lunch at a local eatery. Carpool from Sam's Club, Murfreesboro. Contact Fount or Anna Bertram, abertram@dtccom.net or 615-765-5357.
