From Highland Rim member Robert Davis....
I made it to Delaware water Gap (if I cross the bridge over the Delaware River I would be in New Jersey) but not without misfortune. The Pa. rocks took their toll on my ankle and foot. I have twisted my left ankle several times and my right arch has a sore tendon. In order not to sustain permanent injury, on June 5, 2009 I decided to go home. Upon arriving at home I came down with a severe chest infection. My chest is clearing and the results of the xrays of my ankle will be back next week. If at all possible and if I feel their is enough time to continue this year before Katahdin shuts down I will go back to the trail this year. If not then I will try next year. Since I only have about 900 miles to finish the trail, the Lord willing I will go on. A special thanks to the group of hikers, and the church and it members I met at the Church on the Mountain.
It will take some time to update my journal. So please be patient.
