Three Murfreesboro members joined folks from Highland Rim and Columbia chapters for an overnight float trip along the Elk river last weekend. Several people enjoyed a day trip and about eight others stayed overnight in old barn belonging to a family friend of one of the kayakers. It was a hot trip but the cold water was a welcome relief. There were numerous wildlife sightings including a groundhog, heron and two Barred owls. One of the highlights of the trip was paddling through a dense fog early Sunday morning.
