From Ron Dunn....
We had a wonderful time at the 2009 Allardt Pumpkin Festival Yesterday. I believe we had about twenty members in attendance. One thing we all would agree on is that our entry in the parade was one of the best looking "floats". We gave away a ton and a half of candy to kids and then headed to Colditz Cove for a little pre-dinner hike. In addition, we were also honored to have Tennessee Naturalist, Randy Hedgepath, help us set up our float and then accompany us on the hike. The wealth of information he shared as we hiked along was really a treat. We finished the day with an Octoberfest dinner complete with live music at Bacara's restaurant outside of Jamestown. While the majority headed back to Pickett for the night, I had the 2.5 hour drive back to Murfreesboro, all the while munching on Rolaids.
It was my first Pumpkin Festival but definitely won't be my last. Thanks to everyone who attended!
