We had 10 folks on the Varnedoe hike in Huntsville. Morale was very good considering windy, light rainy, soggy, cold conditions. We started on the Certain Trail and went to the top of Green Mountain, then across for some distance, then onto the new Varnedoe Trail. The Varnedoe trail goes through thick forest and rocky areas below the top of the mountain. This allows, for the first time, a complete loop without having to repeat going up and back. After the hike we went to a local Mexican restaurant where we quickly warmed up on good hot sauce and food!
