Great News! Tony Jones has made arrangements for a free storage unit beginning January 1st. It is 5 feet by 5 feet, not large, but our favorite price – FREE. It will enable us to receive boxes of yard sale items in advance so they are not in your way. This is compliments of Fortress Storage at Barfield Crescent. Please be sure to give them your business and help promote their new storage facility.
The date for the TTA yard sale is Saturday, May 14, with an alternate date of May 7th. The date will be confirmed in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, please mark both dates on your personal calendars. We will need help in some capacity from all of our Murfreesboro TTA members to make this a successful sale. We need to re-build our treasury to have the needed cash flow available for planning the TTA Annual Meeting 2011 at Dubose Conference Center, and our usual Chapter expenses. This is our only fund raiser. There is no other known way for us to raise several hundred dollars in one day.
Right now is the best time to begin filling a box of items you no longer want or need but are too good to throw away. When that box is full start another. We will start receiving your boxes at the January 11th meeting. Please mark suggested prices on the items as you go. This is not a scientific process, but usually is no more than 20% of what the item cost new. You may use masking tape (cheap and easy to write on) or self-adhesive price stickers from Wal-Mart. Don’t spend a lot of time agonizing over what price to affix, just put something on the item. We will reserve the right to mark it down as the day progresses.
