The Prentice Cooper State Forest backpacking was cancelled Saturday morning because hike leader Charlotte Broyles was ill. It was too late to join the Green Mountain hikers, so Kim Williams and I decided to join the Upper Cumberland group's hike at Fall Creek Falls. We hiked the Upper Cane Creek Overnight Loop and did a shorter version of 10 miles. There was a total of 14 hikers and we crossed several foot bridges along the way. We had lunch at a nice area beside a creek. This is a remote area of the park and was a pleasant walk in the woods without a lot of elevation change.
