Tony led a hike for the Murfreesboro Chapter of the Tennessee Trails Association today at Montgomery Bell State Park in Burns, TN (near Dickson). We hiked about seven miles past the Wildcat Shelter, the Lake Acorn and Creech Hollow Lake and Dam. This portion of the Montgomery Bell Trail is better known as the East Loop. It had been many years since I had been to MB State Park and the beauty of its rusticness is wonderful. We did have lots of water and creek crossings due to the bad storms the day before, but all was passable. Three other members of the Murfreesboro Chapter joined me on this hike (Ann Ford, Sara Pollard and David Zabriskie) as well as one member from the Highland Rim (Tullahoma) Chapter (Joan Hartvigsen)
It was a WONDERFUL March day for a hike!
