CUMMINS FALLS STATE PARK - Sara

Tuesday, May 22, 2012
I attended the opening of Tennessee’s 54th and newest state park on the occasion of the75th Anniversary of Tennessee State Parks. Over 300 people were in attendance.  The program included remarks by Brock Hill, TDEC Deputy Commissioner, Mack Prichard, State Naturalist Emertus, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslem and others.

Cummins Falls State Park is a 211 acre park located 9 miles north of Cookeville on the Blackburn Fork State Scenic River.  It is the 8th largest waterfall in Tennessee in volume of water, and was named one of the top 10 best swimming holes in a Travel and Leisure magazine article.
