We had a cold start on this hike , about 25 degrees but we did have some sun and not much wind. This trail winds through cedar glades and climbs to the top of Bald Knob. Although its winter we saw lots of different kinds of moss and strange stunted trees in this odd landscape. To really appreciate this trail we need to do it again in the spring when these glades come alive with wild flowers and grasses. There were five chilled hikers on this trip. Roy Duncan, Wayne Yancey, Nabill Wakid, Sara Pollard from the Murfreesboro chapter and Robbie Benson from the Nashville chapter. When we got back to the trailhead I fixed the group a steaming mug of hot chocolate that took the chill off.
