Our joint paddle outing to the Narrows of the Harpeth River with the Highland Rim chapter started out with rain in the forecast. Lynn Wilson and I decided to go on even though it was raining in Murfreesboro when we left. By the time we got to the put in, the rain had stopped. There were 12 kayakers – Naullain, his wife Tonya, Joan Hartvigsen, Ted from Memphis, Cindy Watson, Gary Kimbrell, two couples from Manchester and Murfreesboro. There were plenty of barges to pull onto for breaks and lunch. We paddled over to see the Montgomery Bell tunnel. We had a great time and we literally had the river to ourselves because of the cloudy day. Thanks to Naullain for organizing and leading us down the Harpeth River.
