Our Stones River Battlefield Narrated Hike by Jim Schroeder brought out 28 hikers for a beautiful sunny winter day of history and exercise. Jim did a fantastic job making the battle alive for all of us. He has been a volunteer at the battlefield for 20 years and is very knowledgeable and passionate about the people and events of that two day atrocity. I was too busy listening to Jim’s narrative to take many pictures. Probably none of us on this hike will ever look at this hallowed ground in the same way.
Afterwards some of us enjoyed a good meal and stimulating conversation at Logan’s Roadhouse on Broad Street. Thanks to Jim for his presentation and to all for the great turn-out! Anna Bertram

It is nice that so many had the opportunity to hear such a lively and informative historian on this hike. I wish I could have joined you all.
