Trail Maintenance at Barfield Crescent Park
We met the new Barfield Park trail coordinator Tom Sage at 8:00 am and he had suggestions for working on the trail. We started on the paved trail leaving from the Wilderness Station and went along the red blazed trail along the river. We cut back weeds growing over the trail and came across a fallen tree across the trail. A chainsaw would have worked in minutes, but we didn’t have one.
Wayne had brought along a bow saw and he and Nabil took turns cutting the tree. Finally after patience and hard work, we were able to remove the tree from across the trail. We made our way back to the Wilderness Station on the red blazed trail. Workers were Sara Pollard, Nabil Wakid and Wayne Yancey.
