It was the perfect day for a hike. Temperature started out at 60 degrees but it didn't take us long to shed our jackets. We started the hike from the Visitor Center on Megawatt Trail and finished the almost 13 mile loop on Grindstone Trail. We encountered a few mountain bikers and it was interesting to watch them maneuver the curvy and narrow trails. We saw lots of beautiful mushrooms and a few wildflowers. Also beautiful views of the Tennessee River Gorge and downtown Chattanooga. Hikers were Jean Breuer, Joan Hartsvigsen, Chris and Charles King, Lora and Craig McBride, Sara Pollard, Ruth Wells and Wayne Yancey.
