It was the perfect weather for a fall hike. Wayne Yancey led the 11 mile hike starting from the Stone Door ranger station on the Big Creek Rim trail to Alum Gap. Then down the Big Creek Gulf trail to Ranger Falls. Unfortunately the creek was too high to cross to see Ranger Falls. It was a rocky climb out of the gulf but worth the views from the Stone Door. Hikers were Glenda Brewster, Mike Griffin, Lora McBride, Gary McClain, Peggy Nunley, Sara Pollard, Jan Safavi, Kenna Williams and Wayne Yancey.
