There were three chapter members on the Piney River hike in Spring City led by Sara Pollard. There was an abundance of beautiful wildflowers the entire way. This hike follows Duskin Creek and Piney River the entire time. We left Sara's van at the Piney River picnic area and took Joe's truck to the Newby Branch trailhead to begin the hike. We stopped halfway for lunch at the Rockhouse Branch campsite and was able to sit back on the stone "chairs" around the fire pit and relax a bit. It was a beautiful day for a hike. Hikers were Joe Campbell, Sara Pollard and Georgeanne Ross.
