We had 5 backpackers to begin our journey to the Savage Falls Group Campsite Wednesday morning. After setting up our tents, it began to rain hard, so we waited in our tents for the rain to pass. After about an hour, the rain slowed down to a drizzle, and we decided to start our hike on the South Rim trail. Kathy Stutts' tent had a leak, so she packed up and left camp to return home. We hiked along the South Rim trail for a total of 7 miles. It rained again during the night and the next morning we left camp for a hike on the Savage Day loop. We returned to camp and packed up to leave. Backpackers were Jim Barritt, Wendy Fish, Sara Pollard, Geri Sloan and Kathy Stutts.
