Wow! A Triple-Header Weekend on the Cumberland Plateau!

This didn't make the cut for the September newsletter so I thought I'd post all the details since time will be tight for making reservations once the October newsletter comes out!

Oct. 2 - Adventure Trip to Fentress Co., TN: Plans are to visit the Sgt. Alvin C. York Historic Park, which includes the home and museum, grist mill, and a short hiking trail. We will also visit the cemetery where Alvin and Gracie are buried. We'll combine it with a midday meal out. Make this a day trip, an overnight, or combine it with the Allardt Pumpkin Festival. Contact Anna and Fount Bertram abertram@dtccom.net or 615-765-5357 to signup. Also, you may wish to take a look at the following websites: http://www.tennessee.gov/environment/parks/SgtYork/ http://www.bigsouthforkcountry.com/fentress.html http://www.cordellhullmuseum.com/

Oct. 2 through 4 - The 18th Annual Pumpkin Festival, Allardt, TN, Multi-Chapter Event: This year Anne Wesley of the Sumner County Chapter will be in charge but the local contacts for Murfreesboro members are Fount and Anna Bertram, abertram@dtccom.net or 615-765-5357. SEE FRONT PAGE ARTICLE ON TTA SEPT. NEWSLETTER.

Oct. 3 - Oktoberfest Dining at Bacara's (German) Restaurant, Jamestown, TN: Saturday evening at 6:30 CDT TN Trails members from across the state will meet at Bacara's for a special meal and entertainment during their annual Oktoberfest. (This will be after the hike to Colditz Cove.) Reservations are required and must be made directly with the restaurant. Fount has set aside a large table in the name of the Tennessee Trails Association so be sure to mention this when you call the restaurant at 931-879-7121.
