The group campsite was reserved at Rattler Ford Campground on the Cherohala Skyway near Robbinsville, North Carolina. Four hikers hiked the Memorial Loop on Friday and all 7 hikers did the Hangover trail on Saturday. The Hangover offered panoramic views in all directions. The Cherokee Hiking Club had a group there and one of their members pointed out the mountain peaks to us. On Sunday 5 hikers hiked Huckleberry Knob and 4 were staying over another night to kayak Santeetlah Lake. The campers had beautiful clear nights and the campfire was a warm comfort each night. The fall colors were beautiful and thanks to Jan Safavi for organizing and leading the trip. Campers were Joe Campbell, Joan Hartvigsen, Joni Perrine, Sara Pollard, Marietta Poteet, Jan Safavi, and Gloria Dale Williams.
